About Me
Czech lessons tailored to your needs
My name is Eliska Bramborova and I am a fully qualified Czech language teacher with a master’s degree from the Charles University in Prague. In my over 13 years of teaching experience I have had the opportunity to teach Czech as a second language in university and high school classrooms, in companies and people’s homes.
Throughout my professional career I have prepared foreign students for university study programs in the Czech language and helped overseas contract workers acquire an intermediate level of Czech in a very short time.
As a community language teacher I worked with many bilingual families in Europe and Australia. My main focus was to promote Czech language and culture, help family members understand each other, reconnect people with their family history and encourage them to appreciate their background.
Teaching Czech is my passion and I have a great admiration for everybody who decides to learn this beautiful and rich language as their second tongue.
Lesson Types
I offer different types of tuition depending on the student's interest, level and availability.
This is what they all have in common: Students are my partners who are in charge of their learning process. I focus equally on helping my students adopt effective learning techniques just like on mastering the language itself. My main role is professional guidance and assistance with overcoming learning barriers. Together we create a safe and creative learning environment.
Where?
All lessons take place online. I can also offer continuous learner support or you can join one of the asynchronous courses.
When?
The times are a matter of an agreement between the teacher and the student.
I offer 60-minute and 90-minute classes depending on the type of class and your preference. If you decide for aynchronous learning, you are can work on your Czech in the time that suits you best.
How much?
Individual one-to-one lessons start from $85/60 minutes depending on the type of lesson. Buy 10 lessons and you receive one for free. Recommend a friend and get the next lesson gratis!

My Lessons

First of all, there is no unified Czech language. Czech has many varieties and for a start it’s good to know if you wish to master Standard Czech or rather speak its colloquial form. If you’re not sure, I’ll help you figure that out.
Second, your motivation matters. A lot. Do you wish to understand your Czech speaking family member, learn some basic phrases before visiting the Czech Republic or need to pass an exam in Czech? You tell me.
And naturally–the method. A good teacher understands that we all learn in different ways and they also know how to work with this aspect of learning in student's favour. Together we’ll choose an optimal combination of methods to reach your desired results. I can guarantee you already that you will be fully engaged in this fun and important process. Get ready for that :)

I'm a Beginner
I would like to start learning Czech.

Czech for Tiny Tots (2+ yrs)
Passing on the language to little ones is one of my greatest pleasures. It starts with creating a safe and playful environment. With some fun Czech rhymes, songs and games your children won’t even know it’s a different language. Don’t forget to ask me about how to encourage your child’s bilingualism.
